I’m about to hit ‘send’ on an email to the local QuickBooks guru. Because I can’t stand this anymore.
When I started my business I was using money from a personal account, then I opened a business account, then a business PayPal account. Spending and accepting money from these various accounts has become a hassle. Not the actual spending and receiving, but the accounting. I’m anal-retentive about having my debits and credits balance. You should see the spreadsheet I created to regulate Christmas-gift spending. It’s a thing of beauty, and I strangely take pride in painstakingly maintaining it. What we budget is reflected and what we spend is deducted from the total using formulas that a 10-year-old can create (actually, an eight-year-old can probably create them).
But for over a year my accounts have never perfectly balanced for my business on QuickBooks (I’m all good tax-wise; my accountant is amazing) and I’m confused as to the best way to manage the PayPal side, so it’s time to call in some help.
Asking for help means spending money (her help isn’t – and shouldn’t be – free) and swallowing some pride that I both can’t do this easily on my own and that I have taken so long to take care of this. It’s been hanging over my head for months and I just reached my threshold.
And you’re right there with me.
You’ve sat on it, pined over it, thought about starting it, attempted it, let it sit longer, procrastinated, and now it’s time to make something happen.
You know what it is. Don’t delay.
