It’s what we all want: proper communication and respect, in our personal and professional lives. I chuckle when I hear this because of the big ol’ unstated * attached to this request.
You don’t simply want to be communicated with; you want to be communicated with in the way that you prefer to be communicated. Same with respect: what respect is to you is completely different than what it is to me. The person who tells me my website sucks and ways to improve it is showing me respect, but I may not interpret it that way because I’m so emotionally charged by hearing “your website sucks.” People who want their contemporaries to get to the point are incensed when someone keeps talking and talking and talking.
We don’t want communication and respect; we want our communication and our respect.
What’s yours? And do you share it?
