The painting is marvelous…but don’t underestimate the frame.
The frame serve as a direction mechanism, giving shape and creating a space for the wonder you are beholding to exist. It creates distinctions and delineations between the world within its boarders and the world outside of them. There is no painting that is infinite (though their affects are) and frames beautifully and delicately remind us of that.
A career is lived within a frame, a frame of expectations, motivations, beliefs, skills, pressures, knowledge, and resources. All of these are malleable and eligible for adjustment, but to a point. What the point is, though, is to not disregard or be angry at the frame: learn to love it and be thankful for the blessed boundaries it creates. Be thankful for the focus it gives your gaze and how its ornateness outlines your unique character.
