We make decisions in the here and now that are to pay off in the future. Our ideas, effort, focus, and energy are seeds that we expect to germinate into something of value…hopefully something magnificent.
Except when it doesn’t. The transfer didn’t pan out. The new boss you were excited to go to work for has left the company. Running a yoga studio is more than just teaching the proper technique for eagles pose. Now, my friend, you are in the morass.
But, you say, it’s not your fault. A sliver of information wasn’t shared, you got taken advantage of by some dastardly devil, or you just plain ran in to some bad luck.
Doesn’t matter if it’s your fault or not. You’re still responsible. And we all experience this at some point in our careers.
You can rail against how you were wronged, duped, deceived, punished, screwed, inconvenienced, slighted, or whatever.
You have options. You have choice. What is the story that you want to tell about yourself?
