Alienation has gotten a bad rap.
To alienate means to cause isolation or estrangement. In our desire to be our true career selves, we may think that we need to embrace everyone…or to be embraced by everyone. Perhaps your ideas aren’t readily accepted, or maybe you think the group should move in a different direction.
Standing out means just that: to separate from the crowd. It’s how movements are started and lives are changed.
Alienate wisely, but alienate.
