…difficult for you.
Difficult can mean many things: physically difficult (moving 100lb bricks from one pile to another), mentally difficult (quantum physics), emotionally difficult (telling the parents of a young leukemia patient that their child is going to die), or spiritually difficult (an anti-abortionist who works at Planned Parenthood).
The magic of a brilliant career is to both know those difficulties that are the most meaningful and impactful to you, and to navigate them in a way that isn’t overly taxing. Maybe this work is along the lines of getting more in touch with why this difficulty is a difficulty for you (perhaps with some coaching you realize that it is not) or you realize that “yes, this is a big deal to me and I cannot continue.”
And that’s the key: not only determining what is difficult for you, but embracing it – wholeheartedly – and making decisions based on it with love, courage, and choice.
What difficulty are you facing in your career? And what about it is out-of-sync with you?
