“That’s too uncomfortable” is a telling phrase. It underscores a position, a worldview that – in all likelihood – needs to be probed, dissected, and better understood. What about this is uncomfortable? What are you afraid might happen? What are you assuming?
I don’t think you can grow without feeling uncomfortable, and any leader will share that it was in periods of extreme discomfort that they learned an incredible amount about themselves.
If discomfort isn’t a part of your career repertoire, you should ask yourself why are you holding yourself back.
