Tuning produces clarity. A signal that is to be received. To make the D string sound like a D string, you tune your guitar. To hear a particular radio station, you tune in to it.
Tuning takes precision. HD channel 7-1 is completely different from channel 7-2. Old westerns vs. public access.
Tuning can be intentional or unintentional. You can know what station you want to listen to, or you surf. And though you know it’s a D string, maybe you don’t want it to sound quite like a pure D.
Is what you are tuning in to furthering your career in the way that you want it to? Or, more importantly, it needs to?
